TIDINESS COACH IS ABOUT

CALMING HOME ENVIRONMENTS

FOR MAXIMUM PERSONAL PRODUCTIVITY.

Hello friends!

I bet you stumbled upon this Tidiness Coach blog because you are looking for something, some way somewhere, to organize your space. It’s a passion for many of us.

As crazy as it sounds, starting with our stuff may be the way to improve less tangible “knots” in the way we are living.

I started out just tidying my things with konmari, then moved to minimalism. What I didn’t anticipate was that getting rid of most of my possessions would also sort out my free time and my relationships. So now, I blog about that.

Before this, my home was a maze of boxes, plastic storage bins, clutter. Some rooms contained stacks of boxes five high. If you called me to drop something off, I either needed to meet you in a public place or scurry about for an hour or two “making everything presentable” in the front room.

I was constantly frustrated. I blamed my family. I felt incompetent about my home and myself. I was completely overwhelmed by all of life and believed I was the only one who struggled so much to keep her house running.

I was so ready for change. I bought and read Marie Kondo’s “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”. I completed my konmari at a sprint, finishing in one month (August 2015) with many, many 18-hour days. I did konmari three times, shedding more possessions in each round. And then I was inspired by Fumio Sasaki’s “Goodbye, Things” to venture into minimalism.

Since 2015, my home is still tidy. No rebounding!  My household almost runs on auto-pilot. I spend more of my free time doing what is good for me and for others. I hang out with my family in that way I thought I had to go on vacation to get. I live in line with my priorities. I want the same for you.

Thank you for reading my blog.
